Ceiling Fans

Mounted to a real fixing point and balanced, so it runs silent at every speed.

Mounting and balance

Ceiling Fans

A ceiling fan is the cheapest cooling in the house, a few cents an hour against dollars for air conditioning. In a well shaded room it's often all you need until the really hot days.

Two things make a fan good or unbearable: mounting and balance. We fix to a proper structural point rather than just the plasterboard, set the drop rod to suit your ceiling height, and balance the blades so it runs silent at every speed.

Fans with and without lights, DC models for the quiet ones, wall controls and remotes. Swapping an old fan for a new one is usually a one hour visit.

Good questions

Ceiling fan questions.

Yes, and it's usually straightforward. Most swaps take about an hour. If the old fan was mounted straight to the plasterboard we'll add a proper fixing point while we're up there.

For bedrooms, yes. They're noticeably quieter, use around 70% less power, and give you more speed steps. For a rumpus or an alfresco a good AC fan is perfectly fine.

Only an outdoor rated one. Standard indoor fans corrode fast under an alfresco. We'll spec a fan with an IP rating suited to the exposure your area actually gets.
